Today iACT CEO, Tom Spencer, and Communications Coordinator, Jason Taylor, visited the American Red Cross and delivered a check for $4000.00 intended to help the Bastrop fire victims. Tom Spencer presented the check to Jessica Levine who accepted it for The Red Cross.
The funds came from the donations made by those who attended iACT’s 9/11 Interfaith Memorial Service. This money will go to help the families of the recent disaster in Bastrop . Our thanks to those who attended the service and to those who were so generous with their donations. There was a strong parallel between the theme of the Memorial Service, which focused on the first responders who rushed to save “strangers” on 9/11, and what is still unfolding in our own region in response to the wildfires that have destroyed so many homes. Our thoughts remain with the thousands of people in Central Texas who have lost their homes.
“Great perils have this beauty, that they bring to light the brotherhood of strangers.”
