Hands on Housing Program Specialist Wanted!

iACT’s Hands on Housing is looking for a new Program Specialist. Hands on Housing utilizes volunteers and skilled professionals to repair the homes of senior citizens and disabled individuals who are living in deep poverty. Our goal is to keep our homeowners safe and help them remain in the homes and neighborhoods they love. The Program Specialist is a Part- time position supporting the Hands on Housing Program Coordinator in providing administrative support and performing clerical duties for the department. The Program Specialist requires a high level of diplomacy in confidential matters with clients, staff, and other resources. Must be able to work with a diverse clientele and possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

Pay: $15/hr.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Scheduling house visits for volunteers, staff and contractors
  • Assisting with Intake and Assessment
  • File Management
  • Supporting client services
  • Data entry
  • Assisting in case management
  • Volunteer coordination for bi-annual repair events
  • Helping at iACT events and fundraisers
  • Other tasks as assigned

This position will be answering and responding to phone calls and messages, conducting intake of clients, and explaining program requirements to potential clients.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Previous work experience that includes customer/client service
  • Prefer previous experience working with people with disabilities, low income, seniors or other disadvantaged populations.
  • Driver’s License and personal vehicle
