Driving the mentees home after our most recent youth mentorship iBelong gathering, I asked how they thought it had gone. One of them quickly said, “That was the best one yet!”
“What made it so good?” I asked.
She answered, “There were just so many people there who wanted to help me!”
“Yep! That’s the whole point of mentorship,” I said, “to help you thrive!”

Refugee Youth Program
The Youth Mentorship Program (YM) serves refugees aged 15 to 24 in navigating education, career paths, and cultural issues by pairing them with adult mentors.
- Program is ongoing and year-round
- Mentorship training is ongoing
- A mentor’s commitment is for 10 meetings with mentee
- A curriculum on needed topics is available
