iACT’s Hands on Housing utilizes volunteers and skilled professionals to repair the homes of senior citizens and disabled individuals who are living in deep poverty. Our goal is to keep our homeowners safe and help them remain in the homes and neighborhoods they love.

We believe that repairing homes restores hope to those who need it most and changes the hearts of those who do the work. Hands on Housing is a transformational expression of compassion in action.

Interfaith Action of Central Texas (iACT) is funded through the City of Austin Neighborhood Housing and Community Development, Austin Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC) to administer the GO Repair program, the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs to administer the Amy Young Barrier Removal Program and private funding to provide home repairs.

Spring Blitz 2026

We’re excited to invite you to be part of Hands on Housing’s Spring Blitz 2026—a community-wide effort to paint and repair homes for low-income, elderly, and disabled neighbors across Central Texas.

Spring Blitz Dates:
April 11–12 and April 18–19

Spring Blitz is about more than repairs—it’s about safety, dignity, and helping neighbors remain in the homes and communities they love. This work is made possible by volunteer teams from congregations, businesses, schools, community groups, and nonprofit partners—and we would love for you to join us.

A virtual Team Leader Orientation will take place:
