Where are you from? How long have you lived in Austin?
I was born at St. David’s Hospital here in Austin and have lived here my whole life, other than one year in Brasilia, Brazil when I was 11 years old, and 4 years in College Station, attending Texas A&M University.

How long have you served on the iACT Board?
Since March 2024

What made you want to serve as an iACT Board Member?
Ha! Mostly because I was asked by Michelle and Simone. Who can say no to them!?! But also because I believe in the mission of iACT. To quote an Elvis Costello song, “What’s so funny ‘bout peace, love and understanding?”

What do you enjoy the most about your role as a Board Member of iACT?
I haven’t served long enough to have a coherent answer to this question.

What’s the most challenging thing about working as a Board Member of iACT?
Carving the time out of my life to give it the attention it deserves.

What’s the most rewarding thing about being a Board Member of iACT?
Getting to know the great people who are also serving the organization.

Why would you encourage others to support the work?
I feel like our entire society is fragile at the moment, and moving in the wrong direction due to political and religious polarization. I believe it is important to help and many people as possible understand that we have more in common than we are different.
