A Season Truly Full of Caring

For the second year in a row, iACT has participated in the Austin American-Statesman’s Season for Caring campaign, and this year, just like last, we are once again overwhelmed with gratitude for all of our supporters. Thanks to you, Ms. Pennick, whose story can be read here, has received many of the necessities she requires to continue her work of caring for others. From microwaves and bedding to HEB giftcards, every little bit has made a difference in this courageous woman’s life!

Things are going well for Ms. Pennick, and iACT is currently coordinating with various service donors to work toward making improvements and repairs to her home. One of the most touching displays of kindness we saw was when a class from Ojeda Middle School in Del Valle ISD took it upon themselves to makes sure Ms. Pennick had an abundance of greeting cards for the holiday season. One of these cards read:

Just know that I read your story and you are a really great person. You are a great person because you help other women and you also give them shelter. I think that you are a really wonderful woman. I hope that you have a great Christmas and a great new year!

Ms. Pennick was truly touched by this outpouring of well-wishes from some of Travis County’s youngest residents.
