Where are you from? How long have you lived in Austin?
I’m from Los Angeles, grew up in Madrid Spain and have lived here since 1976-49 years! Wow-I’ve never done the math before!
How long have you served on the iACT Board?
I have served on the board for three years.
What made you want to serve as an iACT Board Member?
I’m delighted to serve on the board because I believe in iACT’s mission and I’m so impressed with the effectiveness of the Hands on Housing and Refugee Services programs.
What do you enjoy the most about your role as a Board Member of iACT?
My favorite part of iACT is learning about the many faiths represented in Austin, such diverse communities that come together in spirit and unity.
What’s the most challenging thing about working as a Board Member of iACT?
The most challenging part of my role as a board member is addressing the increasing demand for iACT’s services.
What’s the most rewarding thing about being a Board Member of iACT?
The most rewarding part as a board member is knowing that IACT makes a vital and meaningful difference in our community, whether it be helping a refugee family resettle in an unfamiliar country or addressing housing needs for low income communities.
Why would you encourage others to support the work of iACT?
In Supporting the work of iACT, you invest in our community in a meaningful way, helping us to continue to provide necessary services in response to an ever growing demand.
