Members of the refugee program recently visited the Refugee Collective Farm to learn more about their community farmer program. This incredible program offers 750-square-foot plots to refugees to farm themselves and supports them with knowledge, tools, and seeds. Refugee Collective even helps them sell the extra food through their community supported agriculture program. We learned all about their regenerative land stewardship approach.

We brought Raees Babrakzai, the father of our Season for Caring refugee family, along with us, and iACT is helping him enroll in their program. With a degree in agriculture from Afghanistan, Raees seemed right at home wandering the fields and greenhouses. He even eagerly grabbed a shovel, dug a hole, and explained the soil to us. He plans to bring his entire family out to help tend the plot and grow food, including some produce from Afghanistan not easily available in the US that the Refugee Collective provides.

iACT is excited to enroll more of our clients from our refugee English, youth mentoring, and health and wellness programs in this wonderful opportunity.
