Born in Houston but grew up in Austin.
How long have you been in Austin?
I was twenty years away but am happy to be back home in Austin since October 2022
What do you do at iACT?
I am the refugee program co-director. I help run our education program that has three main branches: (1) English language instruction for adults, (2) youth mentoring, and (3) Afghan health & wellness.
What’s the most challenging thing about the work you do at iACT?
The extent of the need. I wish we could expand capacity to better help the many inspiring refugees in our area.
What’s the most rewarding thing about the work you do at iACT?
The people, both the amazing staff of iACT and the incredible people that we are honored to serve
Why would you encourage others to support the work of iACT?
Because we bridge divides and bring people together to do all manner of good.
