Hands on Harvey

As the flood waters recede in Texas, many of us hands-on types are left with eager, enthusiastic hands, ready to serve. While many affected homeowners will have the budget to hire professional mold remediation companies, many simply will not. iACT’s Hands on Housing program is taking direction from Mayor Adler’s innovative “Welcome Kits” for incoming evacuees by launching our own kit drive: DO-IT-YOURSELF MOLD REMEDIATION.

These comprehensive kits will contain much-needed mold remediation supplies & equipment such as respirators, Tyvek suits, and demolition hand tools. Each kit will include everything needed for a small team of volunteers to safely and responsibly demolish saturated drywall, remove saturated flooring, and stop the mold festering in its tracks. The entire process can be accomplished in an action-packed weekend, or a leisurely 5 days.
